About P1. (Ian)
I’m honoured that Joe would establish me as P1 of 3, in spite of him being slightly better at most games generally, and him always being unwilling to relinquish control of the P1 pad in a local multiplayer game.
But seriously, my Bio, right…
I’m 20, a Student in University of Birmingham, I’m President of the University of Birmingham Computer and Video games society, known Joe since I was like 6 or 7 (that’s how long ago it was, memories weren’t even forming at that point in my development), and me and Joe both really really like games. Really. Not like how everybody plays brain training and wii sports and calls themselves a gamer. We (or I at least) play games, buy magazines, read websites, anticipate releases, place preorders, play online, download demos, commemorate and commend old games we used to play, try to figure out how we can play them again now, and stuff that most people don’t do.
Also on a seperate note, I play DDR a lot (if you don’t know what that abbreviation means then GTFO this blog), and I think it deserves a seperate point because [shameless plug] I’m part of the very niche Dance Game community, and if you’re interested in getting involved in the community (one does exist, i assure you), I recommend you check out ddruk.com(if you’re not one of the people that i’ve linked to this blog from that website) because they are an awesome forum, they run tournaments and other fun music game related things. [/shameless plug]
If you were to ask me what sort of genre of game I like, I’d be lost for words. If “decent” were a genre, then I would say that, but it’s a noun given to things at the upper end of the “quality” scale. I’ve found myself enjoying Shooter (CoD4, Gears, Half Life), Puzzle (Tetris DS), Racing (PGR4), RPG (Oblivion & Eternal Sonata), Adventure (Tomb Raider), RTS (Dungeon Keeper), Rhythm Action (DDR, IIDX, Guitar Hero, Taiko no Tatsujin), Sport (Virtua Tennis 3, Skate.), Fighting (Tekken), and Party games (Fuzion Frenzy). As long as it’s well made and fun to play then I’ll give it a go.
Other than gaming I juggle, play with rubik’s cubes, drink caffeine, pretend i’m doing work at Uni (as I write this I have 400 words to write for my essay tomorrow, and this is the perfect distraction), and go to the Cinema with my friends a lot. Juno is Brilliant. You heard that here first.
