About P2. (Joe)

Well, lets see. I was born June 1988, making me 19 at the time of going to press (always wanted to say that.) I’m doing a film and imaginative writing degree at Liverpool John Moores University. During my first year I established, ran for a bit, then shut down the ‘Videogame Culture’ society of our union. Distance issues; I couldn’t get all my consoles and shit to this place every week and nobody was really receptive to the idea. Their loss.

When it comes to games I have eclectic tastes, my only abhorrance being some sports games. I achnowledge their right to exist, I’m just not a sports fan, k? Apart from that, pretty much anything goes. I’m a big fan of first person shooters (Half-Life, Doom 3, Deus Ex) and survival horrors (Silent Hill 2, Fear Effect). RPG gets a mention too (Oblivion, Illusion of Time, Final Fantasy VIII), but a smidge more action really makes that genre for me (Bioshock, Kingdom Hearts). Third person action games are such a mixed bag that they really have to have something going for them (Killer7, SOS: Final Escape, Nomad Soul, Metal Gear Solid 2).

While I don’t hate puzzle or stratagy games, I can’t really do them - so I say I hate them. If I were more competant then I’d name Empire Earth, Myst and Advance Wars amongst them.

Outside of gaming I read a lot of short stories and scripts; hoping to become some sort of screen or game writer. Watch a lot of films, predominantly horror. Kick a lot of ass, predominantly Ian’s.
